Focus and Scope
The International Journal of Visual and Performing Arts draws on contributions from academics and practitioner-researchers at the interface of the new visual and performing arts. It acts as a forum for critical study, the innovative practice of the arts in the latest technological developments, and creative pedagogy, addressing themes which may be domain-specific (e.g., dance, music, visual arts) or lie at the convergence of two or more disciplines.
The editor's policy has chosen to allow artistic research pieces from all fields as of Volume 5 No. 1 (2023). In addition to serving as a meeting place for various artistic research practises and methodologies from various artistic fields, this is done since there are more artistic researchers throughout the world.
The journal encourages rigorous, substantial, and original research on any topic relating to the visual and performing arts or artistic research practises, inside or between disciplines. This promotes interdisciplinary discussion and interaction in a variety of contexts, including how technology might function as a medium for artistic expression. Ethnomusicology, Karawitanology, music education, dance, and visual arts are among the range of topics.
These topics are addressed in full-length academic articles, critical statements on current issues, developmental practice, and reviews of books and live/media-based visual and performing arts. The journal presents an innovative platform for researchers, students, practitioners, and educators to learn from and contribute to the field. All articles are subject to initial Editor screening and then a rigorous double-blind peer-review process before publication.

Peer Review Process
An editor first reviews the submitted manuscript. It will be evaluated in the office whether it is suitable for the International Journal of Visual and Performing Arts focus and scope or has a major methodological flaw and similarity score by using iThenticate.
The manuscript will be sent to at least two anonymous reviewers (Double-Blind Peer Review). Reviewers' comments are then sent to the corresponding author for necessary actions and responses.
The suggested decision will be evaluated in an editorial board meeting. Afterwards, the editor will send the final decision to the corresponding author.
